Heating with Electricity (Night Storage Heater) - Holiday Apartment

Please note

  • Night storage heaters are charged with electricity at night. They have to be switched on/off and adjusted on the evening before.
  • Charge level 1 (max. 33% charge) on the radiator usually is sufficient
  • Only use the blower if heat is required quickly.
  • Turn off the night storage heaters in the living room if you are heating with wood.

main switch
  • The main switch of the entire night storage heating for the holiday apartment (DG) is located at the upper staircase in front of the entrance door to the apartment (Fritz! socket of electrical distributor).
  • You only have to switch it on, if you want to use the night storage heaters. Please switch it off on departure and set the individual radiators to level I.

Heating with Night Storage Heaters

  • The cost of electricity heating is highly dependent on the outside temperatures and individual heating habits. The cost is significantly reduced if you heat with wood and, for example, turn off the storage stove in the living room (8 hours * 4 kWh = 32 kWh). Attention: If you set all radiators to level 3 (100%) and the blowers to maximum, the consumption values can exceed 100 kwh/night!!
  • Our night storage heaters are charged with electricity at night and radiate the stored heat to the rooms the next day. If you want to heat less, you must reduce the charging level the night before.
  • Our recommendation: Set night storage heaters in the Himmelreich, Belchen & Feldberg room to level 1 and fire the wood-burning stove in the living room as required. Switch off all blowers.
  • Turn off the blowers of the night storage heaters via the room thermostats on the wall. As a result the heat is stored in the heaters for longer. Normally, the radiated heat is sufficient to heat the rooms. Turn on the fans if heat is required quickly. Set the blowers to level 0 if the room is warm enough or if you leave the apartment. As a result the heat remains stored for longer and there is correspondingly less need to reload at night.
  • The amount of heat to be stored in the heaters at night is regulated by a charge controller depending on the outdoor temperature. In addition, you can control the capacity/charge quantity in three levels at the storage heaters themselves (3= full charge according to the charge control). Set level 3 (100%) if you want it to be warm/very warm in a room or level 1 (33%) if you prefer it cooler.

On departure

  • Set the individual night storage heaters in the rooms on the radiator to level I in each case.
  • Switch off the fans via the room thermostats on the wall.
  • Switch off the entire night storage heating for the holiday apartment (DG) centrally via the Fritz! socket outlet on the electrical distributor at the upper staircase in front of the holiday apartment.
